Conformance status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities.

It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.

This AFTER Study website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard.

Specific exceptions to WCAG 2.1 level AA compliance

• Due to the use of a range of background colours on different areas of each page, not all 'body' or 'a' elements which have colours set in the CSS also have background-colours set in the CSS (WCAG 2.1 AA F24). However, we have ensured that all sections of the page have an appropriate background colour which provides a high level of contrast with the text and interactive elements appearing in that section.
